Helen Jafari, DDS
A compassionate and gentle chair side manner is the hallmark of Dr. Helen Jafari's Family and Cosmetic Dental Practice. Dr. Jafari recognizes that each patient has unique needs, and it takes an individualized approach in order to meet them. While function, oral health, and comfort are the foundation for the standard of care she maintains, she believes that artistry plays an important role in achieving desired results. Her years of experience, aesthetic eye, and attention to detail are what give her the unique ability to accomplish this goal.
With the philosophy that a patient’s smile and oral health have great impact on quality of life, Dr. Jafari’s approach is one of collaboration with her patients, and she listens to make sure that the goals set will achieve the patient’s own vision. The relaxing environment of the office encourages open communication so that every individual’s questions are addressed thoroughly. Her associates, staff members, and lab partners are carefully selected and coached to embrace her philosophy of care for patients and uncompromising standards of quality.
Dr. Jafari's dedication to creating beautiful, functional, and healthy smiles has earned her a remarkable reputation. She regularly attends continuing education courses and strives to stay up to date and bring the very best of modern materials, technology and skills to her patients. Her most recent research has been regarding Sleep Apnea, and the unique ways that the dental field is positioned to help people with this condition. She completed her dental education in 1991 and continued for an additional two years residency in advanced education general dentistry at The University of Rochester in New York and Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Jafari lives in Bellaire with her husband, daughter, and Labradoodle Cole. In her free time she enjoys cooking with family and friends, traveling, hiking, and especially being a mom.
Paulette Arana, DDS
As a local Houstonian, Dr. Paulette Arana finds joy in serving the patients in her community. She enjoys coming to work every day, building great relationships with her patients, helping create beautiful smiles, and promoting good oral health. Dedicated to a patient’s comfort and convenience, Dr. Arana and her staff have ongoing training and continuing education in order to provide up-to-date technology and techniques.
Lan Nguyen, DDS
Dr. Lan Nguyen has been a practicing dentist for over twenty years. She loves getting to know each patient individually and appreciates all the unique aspects of their lives. Dr. Nguyen enjoys interacting with people of all ages. She strives to make her patients feel comfortable so they are relaxed and excited about visiting the dentist. She truly loves helping patients improve and maintain their dental health and knows that their overall physical health will benefit from the care she provides.
Dr. Nguyen received her Bachelor of Arts in Zoology/ Physiology from the University of Texas in Austin. She went on to complete her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Texas Dental Branch, and her General Practice Residency at the Temple VA Hospital. She stays up-to-date with current dental technology by completing continuing education courses throughout the year, and is certified in conscious oral sedation. She is a member of the American Dental Association as well as the Texas Dental Association.
Dr. Nguyen currently lives in Pearland with her husband and two beautiful children, Donovan and Leilani. They enjoy traveling, biking, and taking long walks with their dog, Whiskey, on weekends. Dr. Nguyen loves trying new foods and ethnic cuisine, so she and her husband dine out whenever possible. The Nguyen family also enjoys outdoor activities, so in the summer, they may be spotted at the lakes jet skiing or at the beach building sandcastles.
Ariana Moreno, DDS
Dr. Ariana Moreno was born in Los Angeles, but was raised in Houston, TX. She completed
her undergraduate studies at University of Houston, and continued with her doctorate of dental
surgery at Howard University in Washington, D.C.
She is a member of many prestigious organizations including American Dental Association,
Texas Dental Association, and the Hispanic Dental Association.
Dr. Moreno prides herself in compassionate dental care for all ages because everyone
deserves a healthy smile. She takes her time to listen to everyone’s concerns and is
passionate about providing the best care possible.
In her free time, Dr. Moreno enjoys trying new local restaurants with her husband Tim, and
taking joy rides in the car with her dogs, Luna & Louie. They all enjoy running outside when the

Amy La, DDS
Prior to joining the Houstonian Dental family, Dr. La has had the privilege of immersing herself in dentistry for over six years, working and learning alongside some of the industry's most established practitioners. Her involvement throughout the Texas Medical Center and some of Houston's finest pediatric, oral surgery, public health, and emergency treatment clinics has taught her that there is never an average day in dentistry. As a result, she has committed herself to consistently delivering extraordinary dental care.
As a young dentist, Dr. La has always desired to work in a setting that matches her passion for forward thinking, excellent care, continuous improvement, and modern education. These qualities help her to ensure that her patients will receive pertinent, evidence-based dental care and the best possible treatment every time.
Dr. La is a proud Houston native who strives to give her best back to the people of her city. She earned her Bachelor's degree at the University of Houston, and went on to complete her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Texas Health School of Dentistry in Houston, in order to pursue her lifelong career in restorative dentistry.
Outside of the office, she has remained a dedicated advocate for the dental profession ever since her undergraduate days, supporting only the most ethical policies that are geared to protect her patients and colleagues. Currently, she is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society.
